Seven years ago, DSD, recognizing the importance of a disciplined approach to software development and software acquisition, established a subsidiary company, Technical Assessments Incorporated (TAI), that is dedicated 100% in performing Software Capability Evaluations (SCE's) and software process improvement for Government and industry organizations.

Staff has provided support in the Software Capability Maturity Model (SW-CMM), the Software Acquisition CMM (SA-CMM), and the FAA Integrated CMM (FAA iCMM). TAI also provided SCEs for Source Selections, Contract Monitoring, and Process Improvement Initiatives at the USAF Electronic System Center (ESC).
