CMMI – Level 3

Appraised since 2008

Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement training and appraisal program and service administered by the CMMI Institute and required by many DoD and U.S. Government contracts, especially in software development and Information Technology support services. CMMI is about standardizing and improving processes and procedures across a company, group, division, project, or at the corporate level. It is aimed at improving performance across an entire organization or project effort to support corporate efficiencies, help become more competitive, and increase profitability. The CMMI Institute defines the following CMMI maturity levels for processes: Initial, Managed, Defined, Quantitatively Managed, Optimizing. Having formally appraised processes has helped DSD improve our critical corporate processes associated with everything from proposal management to employee training and was instrumental in winning the Alliant SB and Netcents-2 SB Contracts. DSD Laboratories has been CMMI appraised since 2008, starting out with CMMI Level 2 and currently Level 3 for both Services and Software Development.

Change Management – AIM Methodology

Certified since 2001

DSD understands that in change management, one size does not fit all.  DSD pursued and obtained certification in IMA’s Accelerating Implementation Methodology (AIM).  AIM is a practical, repeatable change management framework that ensures business-critical projects are implemented to achieve the maximum benefit in the shortest amount of time.   While many organizations focus resources on the technical and business processes, the greatest risk for failure or sub-optimization is actually on the human side of the equation. The AIM change management methodology brings the same kind of discipline typically reserved for technical and business objectives to these human elements.
